British Council #ReConnect 2021
Women and Short Film: China and the UK

 
 

As part of its 5th anniversary progamme in 2021, ONEIWFF has worked with the British Council and Encounters Film Festival in Bristol, to initiate the Shorts by Chinese Women Filmmakers project, which supports five up-and-coming women filmmakers in China to make short films. The Encounters Film Festival has offered online mentoring for the filmmakers, and a UK platform for the finished films. The films will premiere in Chengdu during this year’s ONEIWIFF.

ABOUT ONEIWFF

The One International Women’s Film Festival was founded in 2017 in Chengdu. It is China’s first and only official international women-themed film festival, and the only international film festival in southwest China. Moreover, it is striving to be the top women’s film festival in Asia in terms of market potential. The festival has five main sections: screening, pitching, forum, exhibition and award winning ceremony.
