BFI NETWORK, Encounters Film Festival and Watershed, in partnership with partners including BAFTA and Channel 4 will be hosting a series of online Q&As with filmmakers live from their front room! Every Thursday evening in May we’ll be joined by a different guest; be inspired by their filmmaking journey, get advice on where to start on yours and keep your creative juices flowing!
On Thursday May 28th, Film Programmer Anna Bogutskaya was joined by multi-award-winning independent Writer and Director Ben Wheatley.
Ben’s impressive feature film back catalogue has a cult-like following, best-known works include the psychological horror films Kill List (2011) and A Field in England (2013), adaptation High-Rise (2015), and the action comedy Free Fire (2016).
Now working on blockbuster Tomb Raider 2, Anna chatted to Ben about his DIY approach and how this informs the way he works on large scale productions
