Filmmaker Front Room Q&As with Åsa Lucander

Thursday 4th June | 18:00 BST
Hosted by Helen Brunsdon, British Animation Awards Director, in partnership with Aardman Animations

BFI NETWORK, Encounters Film Festival and Watershed, in partnership with partners including BAFTA and Channel 4 will be hosting a series of online Q&As with filmmakers live from their front room! Every Thursday evening throughout May we’ll be joined by a different guest; be inspired by their filmmaking journey, get advice on where to start on yours and keep your creative juices flowing!

This week we’re joined by animator and illustrator, Åsa Lucander who will be discussing her work directing short films and the recently released music video for Coldplay’s song Daddy which was produced by Aardman Animations.

Åsa has a passion for hand rendered drawings and explores many different textures and mediums in all areas of her work. Her animations are lively and playful, with humour that is sometimes dark yet offbeat and liberating. She nimbly blends music, authentic dialogue, film segments, hand drawn characters and dolls in innovative ways.

This event is in partnership with Aardman Animations. #shortitout Front Room Filmmaker Q&As are supported by BAFTA and Channel 4.

#shortitout is brought to you by Encounters Film Festival, BFI NETWORK and Watershed as part of Depict 2020.
